ERIE – There won’t be a repeat state champion in Division 3 boys basketball this season.

The Whiteford Bobcats knocked off the defending D3 state champion Friday, Riverview Gabriel Richard, 55-39, to capture the district championship.

The Bobcats got 23 points from Cole Griffith and 14 from Caden Schroyer to beat the Pioneers. Schroyer added 14 rebounds, two steals and two assists.
