The Whiteford Bobcat football team has opened the 2017 Michigan Associated Press prep football poll in the No. 2 slot.
The 3-0 Bobcats are rated behind only four-time defending Division 8 state champion Muskegon Catholic Central, the team that beat the Bobcats in the state finals in 2016.
The No. 2 ranking is the highest for the Bobcats since the final poll of 1994 which also had the Bobcats No. 2 (Class DD).
