Whiteford won for the first time ever at Clinton
Whiteford clinched its second consecutive TCC championship for the first time ever (they’ve been in the TCC since 1975)
Whiteford clinched back-to-back conference titles for the first time since 1965 (52 years)
The Bobcat offense had possession of the ball eight times Friday. Six of them ended in touchdowns. The other two ended the first half at midfield and the game ended with the Bobcats taking a knee three consecutive plays at the Clinton 10-yard line.
The 52 points scored by Whiteford are the most points ever scored against Clinton in a Tri-County Conference game (Clinton joined the TCC in 2007 and is 59-10 in TCC games)
Logan Murphy scored four touchdowns and a two-point conversion, giving him 122 points on the season. His 150 rushing yards pushed him past 1,000 for the season – just the 12th different Bobcat to reach 1,000 yards in a season.
With 54 passing yards, Thomas Eitniear passed Gabe LaRoy for most career passing yards by a Whiteford quarterback. He stands at 2,857 career passing yards. He extended his Whiteford record by throwing for his 34th career touchdown pass.
The victory gives Whiteford a 31-4 record over the past three seasons, all with Thomas Eitniear as their starting quarterback
Zach Bertz scored a touchdown in his 8th consecutive game – the only Bobcat to score a TD in every game this season
Clinton entered the game 5-2, a win away from qualifying for the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season and 10th time in 12 years
The 52 points scored by Whiteford are the most points scored vs. Clinton since 9-13-2002 (58 by Erie Mason)
Whiteford reached 50 points for the sixth consecutive game for the first time in school history
The Bobcats have scored 341 points in six TCC games (56.8 per game), leaving them 24 points shy of scoring the most points in a single season in league history (dating back to 1973). League record is 365 points in eight games, shared by Morenci and Clinton.
In all eight games, Whiteford has scored 437 points (54.6). That’s already the third-most points in a single season in school history.
