OTTAWA LAKE — The Whiteford Bobcats limited one of the TCC’s top scorers to just six points and used a big second-half rally to beat Britton Deerfield 62-36.
Whiteford trailed 20-17 with 2:14 left in the first half, but took a 21-20 lead on a Jared Fink layup and went up 23-20 on two Antonio DiTerlizzi free throws with 29 seconds left in the first half.
BD tied the game 30-30 with 3:18 left in the third quarter, but the Bobcats would rally, scoring the next 16 points to go up 46-30 before the Patriots ended the run with a pair of free throws.
BD’s Zac Clark was held to six points. He came into the game averaging 25.0 points per game over his last five TCC outings.
Cameron Iott scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 points to lead the Bobcats. Fink finished with 12 and Matthew Taylor 11.
The Bobcats improved to 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the TCC.
Before the game, Whiteford honored head coach John Rice with a plaque commemorating his 500th career victory on Tuesday.
