Whiteford consensus All-State tackle Lucas Tesznar has been invited to participate in the 2018 Michigan High School Football All-Star game in June.
Tesznar is one of only a handful of TCC players to be chosen for the game.
The others include Joe Beaubien of Sand Creek (1983), Scott VanHuysen of Summerfield (1986), Mike Crots of Summerfield (1987), John Iott of Whiteford (1990), Victor Doman of Whitmore Lake (2003), Josh DuPree of Whiteford (2008) and Eric Cogan of Summerfield (2010).
Coaches Ernie Ayers of Sand Creek was a coach of a squad in 2011 and LeRoy Wood from Summerfield coached in 2005.
Tesznar is the first player in Whiteford history to earn first team All-State honors from the Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and Associated Press – and he did it for two consecutive years.
Tesznar recently committed to play football this fall at Eastern Michigan University. An offensive tackle, he was First Team All-State by the Associated Press in both 2016 and 2017 and made a number of other All-State teams. He anchored the offensive line that rushed for a school-record 5,127 yards and scored 737 points – the second most in state history.
