HUDSON – Whiteford opened the 2018 track season with a tri-meet at Hudson Wednesday.
In the boys meet, Hudson finished first with 70 points, Morenci second with 65 and Whiteford third with 33.
The Bobcat got first place finishes from Bradlee Barron in the discus (94-06) and Logan Murphy in the 100 (11.6). DeShawn Williams was second in shot put (36-09.5) and third in discus (89-07), Nathan Walker third in the 110 hurdles (20.3) and Bradyn Clark-Gilmore third in 200 (25.4). The Bobcats won the 4×200 relay.
Whiteford’s girls finished second in the tri-meet with 30 points. Hudson scored 114 and Morenci 24.
Ellie DuVall won the long jump (13-11.50) while Paige Thomas was second in the 100 (13.8) and 200 (29.3).
The Bobcats go next April 9 at Dundee.
