BLISSFIELD – Whiteford’s softball team is 11-7-1 on the season after beating Blissfield but losing two other games at Saturday’s Blissfield Invitational.
The Bobcats beat the Royals 3-1 in the opening game of the day, behind a two-hit pitching performance by Lindsey Walker. She struck out eight.
Clinton beat the Bobcats in a non-league game, 13-2, then Grass Lake beat the Bobcats 5-2 in the final game of the day. Karsyn Berns-Moore pitched against Clinton while Walker pitched against Grass Lake.
Milly Iott had four singles and two RBI on the day. Walker had two singles and a home run for three RBI and Baylee Baldwin had three hits, a sacrifice and an RBI.
The Bobcats will play Onsted in a single game Monday.
Clinton won the Blissfield tournament, beating the Royals 11-6 and also defeating Grass Lake. Grass Lake also beat Blissfield and finished 2-1 on the day.
