OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford’s boys basketball season will tip off Tuesday when the Bobcats host Blissfield in a non-league game.
Here’s a preview of the Whiteford season:
Whiteford Bobcats
2018-19: 7-15
Coach: Nick Abalos, 2nd year
Returning starters: Senior Brodi Tesznar (6-5)
Other returning players: Seniors Nick Marchant (5-9), Skyler Collins (6-2), Braedon Mills (6-2), Kyle Haubrich (5-6); Junior Luke Masserant (6-4).
Newcomers: Juniors Austin Wynn (5-9) and Evan Dyer (5-11); sophomores Levi Hillard (5-11), Cole Giesige (6-0) and Noah Bauman (6-3) and freshman Shea Ruddy (5-8).
Outlook: Whiteford has a tough non-league schedule, with games against Blissfield, Bedford, Ida, Ottawa Hills and Jefferson.
Coach’s comment: “The preseason has gone well, and the players have picked up right where we left off in the summer. We are battling some injuries right now. Our key this season is to play together. We really want to buy in on the defensive end and work hard.”
