Milly Iott, Tony DuPree and Jake DuPree to be inducted into Whiteford Athletic Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be February 14

OTTAWA LAKE – The Whiteford High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct three new members this month. All three will join relatives in the Hall of Fame.

Milly Iott, Jake DuPree and Tony DuPree will be inducted following the girls varsity basketball game, which begins at 5:30 p.m., and prior to the boys varsity basketball game on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020.

Iott will be inducted after being named First Team All-State in softball in 2019. She played four years for the Bobcats, helping them win multiple Tri-County Conference and District championships and an appearance in the 2018 state championship game.

wf hall of fame logoJake DuPree will be one of two at-large members of the Class of 2020. DuPree played football, basketball and baseball at Whiteford, earning honorable mention All-State honors in basketball, where he was a 1,000-point scorer. He went on to play college basketball at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio, where he was a two-year captain and NAIA Scholar-Athlete. He is presently an assistant coach at Lourdes.

Tony DuPree is the final member of the Class of 2020 and also an at-large selection. Tony is a 1983 Whiteford graduate who played football, basketball and baseball for the Bobcats. He was a starter on the 1981-82 and 1982-83 basketball teams that won a combined 39 games and back-to-back conference championships. On the football field, DuPree was an electrifying running back, setting a Monroe County Region record at the time with 1,442 yards rushing in just eight games. He has been a football coach for the Bobcats for more than 20 years.

Iott will join the Hall of Fame that includes several cousins and her grandfather, Pat Iott. Jake DuPree is the son of 2017 Hall of Fame inductee Everett DuPree and brother of 2008 Whiteford Hall of Famer Josh DuPree. Tony is Everett’s brother and the third DuPree brother to join the Hall of Fame along with Chris DuPree in 1989.

Plaques honoring all three Hall of Famers will be posted on the wall outside of the Whiteford Gymnasium along with plaques for the other inductees.

  1. Congratulations to all three Bobcats for their outstanding accomplishments. Not only do you have your hard work to be proud of but the Whiteford Community is proud to be represented by such fine athletes as you. CONGRATULATIONS for your exceptional Bobcat years!

  2. Congratulations to Tony and the other inductees. I had the privilege of coaching Tony on the football team during his Freshman year.
