Whiteford’s football team enjoyed unprecedented success in 1964, winning the River Raisin Conference and finishing undefeated for the first time in school history. The Bobcats finished ranked No. 15 in the final Associated Press Class C and D poll of the season after an unblemished 9-0 season.
Terry Aldrich (above) was the football MVP.
Ron Kubitz was named All-State. Bobcat football coach Ed Osnowitz called him the finest Class D lineman in the state.
The Bobcat basketball team enjoyed a fine season as well, winning 13 times and finishing as runner-up to an outstanding Ida squad in the RRC. The Bobcats lost three times to the Bluestreaks.
