Karen Hubbard set records on the basketball court, Whiteford’s football team had its first winning season in years, the Bobcat boys basketball team won a conference championship and Whiteford’s girls won titles in basketball, volleyball and softball.
The 1979-80 school year was a banner one for the Bobcats in athletics and helped usher in the decade of the 1980s that included dozens of championships.
Hubbard (pictured) closed out her remarkable career in basketball by being named All-State and scoring 1,663 career points – a record that still stands.
