
JACKSON — Whiteford’s boys cross country team has qualified for the Michigan High School Athletic Association state finals.
Its Whiteford’s first trip to the state finals since 2015. They also qualified in 2014.

The Bobcats finished third as a team in Friday’s Division 4 Regional at Ella Sharpe Park in Jackson to earn the trip to the state finals. The finals will be held Saturday, November 7 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Junior Luke Murphy finished seventh (17:44.51) with freshman Keegan Masters (17:57.66) placing 12th and Elliott Rodgers coming in at 18:17.06 for 17th place. Cole Crouch gave the Bobcats three runners in the top 25 by finishing in 19:01.80.
The Bobcats are coached by Jay Yockey, who is in his first season with the Bobcats.
