ERIE — Whiteford will play in Thursday’s Division 3 District volleyball final against defending state champion Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.

The Bobcats beat Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 25-10, 25-9, 25-7 in Monday’s first round. Kyleigh Borowicz had 12 kills, Alaina Andrews 20 assists and Aly VanBrandt 12 digs.

“It was a great team effort,” Whiteford coach Elizabeth Ruddy said.

SMCC (35-2) is ranked No. 1 in the state. The Kestrels advanced to the final by getting past Erie Mason., 25-6, 25-11, 25-6.

Whiteford improved to 9-10 on the season.

The finals are at 7 p.m. Thursday.
