OTTAWA LAKE – It’s unanimous.
Whiteford two-way lineman Noah Bauman received a fourth a final First Team All-State honor Sunday when he was named to the Detroit Free Press All-State team.
That means Bauman, a Bobcat junior, was named first team all-state by all four statewide teams chosen – Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Associated Press and the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association. He was first team all-state as a sophomore as well.
This past season Bauman was a dominating force on both the offensive and defensive lines for Whiteford, earning first team all-conference, all-Monroe County region and Division 8 All-Region by the coaches association. He’s already one of the most honored football players in Whiteford history and he has a season to go.
The 6-3, 285-pound junior had 51 tackles, including 11.5 tackles for loss on defense while helping clear the way for a Bobcat offense that gained 2,300 yards and averaged nearly six yards a carry rushing the ball.
Senior Devon Shaw rushed for 961 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was an honorable mention choice by the Free Press.
