MILAN – Whiteford bounced back Monday to pick up the victory in Game 2 of a non-league doubleheader with Milan, salvaging a split with the Big Reds.

In the opener, Ambrelle Billau had the only hit for Whiteford. Berlynn Keller struck out 12 and gave up only one earned run as the Bobcats committed five errors in the field.

In the nightcap, Whiteford won 7-3 with freshman Karlei Conard earning her first varsity win, striking out six and allowing five hits.

The Bobcats scored two in the first and three in the second to go up 5-0. Patrina Marsh went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run while Aly VanBrandt went 3-3 and Keller 2-3 with three RBI.

“Milan has a good team and it was great to come back and get a win in game two,” Bobcat coach Matt VanBrandt said.
