Whiteford softball team rolling, sweeps Bedford in DH

Whiteford improved to 8-2 Friday with a sweep of Bedford in a non-league doubleheader.

The Bobcat hitters slugged out 19 hits in the first game, including Berlynn Keller, who not only got the pitching win, but had three hits and four RBI in the 14-4 win in the opener.

Keller pitched four innings while Unity Nelson closed out the game.

IN game two, Patrina Marsh, Karlei Conard and Nelson combined on the victory. Nelson had 10 strikeouts in the second game while Marsh had three hits and scored three runs.

“It was a great team effort,” Whiteford coach Matt VanBrandt said. “Our hitters are seeing the ball well for early in the season and our baserunning was much better tonight.”

The Bobcats will host Pittsford Wednesday and Ida on Friday in doubleheaders.
