Bobcats have strong showing at team state meet, breaking marks and winning medals

MOUNT PLEASANT – Whiteford not only brought home a few medals at the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches’ Association Team State Meet Saturday, some of the Bobcats were participated also set records. 

Annie Gapp was second in the low hurdles and ran with Paige Thomas, Madelyn Thomas and Aubrie Simmons on the second-place 800 relay and third-place 1,600 relay. 

Gapp set a school record in the 300 Hurdles, running it in 49.66. The girls relay team finished with a time of 4:17.90. 

Madelyn Thomas was fourth in the 800, Kenzie Gray took ninth in the discus and 10th in the shot-put and Alena Ellis placed seventh in the high jump. 

Overall the Bobcat girls placed ninth as a team. 

Keegan Masters took seventh in the 3,200 and 10th in the 1,600 for the Whiteford boys, who placed 10th.
