Bobcats win 30th game of season in non-league tune-up

OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford improved to 30-4 on the season Thursday with a 7-3 softball win over Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.

The Bobcats reached the 30-win plateau for just the fourth time in school history.

The season continues Saturday at 10 a.m. at Concord when the district champion Bobcats take on Morenci.

On Thursday, Whiteford beat No. 3 ranked (in Division 3) SMCC for a second time this season.

Berlynn Keller and Unity Nelson combined for 15 strikeouts and gave up just four hits.

Keller started and left the game after three innings and the score tied.

Aly VanBrandt had four of Whiteford’s eight hits on the day.
