BATTLE CREEK — Whiteford’s 32-4 softball team will play Bridgman in Tuesday’s Division 4 quarterfinal.
The Bobcats will be making their 15th all-time quarterfinal appearance while Bridgman is in the quarterfinals for the first time since 1994. Whiteford beat Bridgman 5-4 in the quarterfinal that season and went on to finish as the Class D runners-up. It was the only meeting between the two schools in softball.
Whiteford is 3-5 all-time in quarterfinal games since 1993 when the state moved to the quarterfinal format.
Bridgman (38-2) posted a pair of comeback wins Saturday to win the Division 4 regional championship.
The winner will take on the winner of Allen Park Cabrini-Unionville-Sebewaing on Friday in Lansing.
