Bobcats beat Madison for third straight win

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and Cole Giesige ran for 210 yards and five touchdowns as the Bobcats defeated Adrian Madison 58-32.

The Bobcat defense stopped Madison on a fourth-down attempt on the Trojans first series of the game, then got a touchdown from Giesige minutes later for an early 8-0 lead. Ty Ruddy picked off a Madison pass, setting up a 1-yard touchdown by Levi Hillard then the Bobcats recovered an onside kick and Giesige scored again, this time from 13 yards out.

Just before the first quarter ended, Shea Ruddy, the Bobcat quarterback, hooked up on a 75-yard scoring play to Hunter DeBarr for a 28-0 lead.

Giesige added touchdowns of 55 and 14 yards in the second and third quarters and a four-yard run for a score in the fourth. Luis Trejo also scored for the 3-0 Bobcats.

Whiteford rang up 435 yards of total offense. Trejo had 64 yards on the ground while Ruddy completed two of his four passes for 96 yards.

Jake Iott led the Whiteford defense with 15 tackles. Levi Hillard had nine while Ryin Ruddy and Drew Knaggs each had 8.
