NEW BOSTON – Whiteford’s boys cross country team had a successful day at the 52nd annual Huron Invitational at Willow Metropark.
The Bobcats placed fifth overall in the D2/3/4 race, but in the D3/4 split of scores, took home second place.
Keegan Masters was 10th in 17:37 to lead the Whiteford runners.
Luke Murphy (18:21) came in 29th, Elliott Rodgers was 33rd (18:29) while Cole Crouch both came in at 19:11, good for 49th and 50th. Nick Oberle (20:31) and Brendon Masters (20:41) were 85th and 88th.
“The boys all ran really well,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said. “We had a hard week of training and I’m really happy with their results on tired legs. This was a great meet for us to compete in for a confidence boost, but also that we will be back for the regional race on this course.”
Megan Butz (26:50) and Sidney Miller (29:07) placed 86th and 96th.
The Bobcats are back on course Tuesday at Gerber Park for the Blissfield Early Bird Invitational.
