Hillard perfect, Giesige allows no hits as Bobcats sweep Morenci, 15-0, 20-0

OTTAWA LAKE — Levi Hillard tossed a five-inning complete game and Cole Giesige didn’t allow a hit in four innings as Whiteford swept Morenci Wednesday.

Hillard retired all 15 batters he faced in the second game as Whiteford slugged its way to 20 runs. Luke Rasor and Logan Tammerine each had three hits, including two triples. Hillard had four RBIs on two hits and a walk.

Hillard struck out 12. The closest Morenci came to a baserunner was in the fourth inning when a Bulldog batter hit a short pop up between home plate and the pitchers mound in which Rasor, the Whiteford catcher, made a great play to get him at first base.

Giesige struck out seven and walked one in the first game, which Whiteford closed out in four innings 15-0.

Ryin Ruddy and Nate Stevens had three hits each and Tammerine had two doubles and three RBIs in that game.

The Bobcats are 16-4 overall and 8-0 in the TCC.
