OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford put two players on the Second Team Division 3 All-State baseball team.
The Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association list was released this week.

Giesige, a senior, had a great season on the mound and at the plate. He led the Bobcats in hitting with a .409 average with 40 runs scored and 33 RBIs. He struck out just eight times in 130 plate appearances and stole 16 bases. He had an on-base percentage of .454.
On the mound Giesige was 9-3 overall with one save. He struck out 104 batters in 63.2 innings, giving up just 12 earned runs all season for an ERA of 1.32.
He helped the Bobcats set a team record with 326 strikeouts on the season.

Tammerine finished second on the team in hitting at .408 with 42 hits in 103 at-bats. He scored 40 runs and had 31 RBIs.
Both Tammerine and Giesige were second team All-State choices in Division 4 last season.
Whiteford won the Tri-County Conference and its first-ever Division 3 District championship while going 25-7.
