OTTAWA LAKE — One down, five to go.
The Whiteford Agricultural Schools Board of Education voted Monday to approve Lenawee Christian’s entry into the Tri-County Conference on a unanimous vote.
LCS has applied to join the TCC starting with the 2023-24 school year. The TCC’s board of athletic directors have okayed the move but now each school district must vote on it as well. If at least five of the board’s say yes, LCS will join the TCC.
Whiteford’s vote was 5-0 Monday, according to athletic director Jeremy Simmons.
The board of education at Britton Deerfield, Morenci, Erie Mason, Sand Creek and Summerfield will also be voting on the issue. Madison, which is leaving the TCC after this school year, will not vote on LCS’ entry.
