Madison clinches TCC volleyball title with win over Whiteford

OTTAWA LAKE – Madison clinched a share of its seventh consecutive TCC volleyball title Tuesday by beating Whiteford in four sets, 18-25, 25-8, 25-14, 25-21.

The Bobcats fell to 5-3 in the TCC. Madison is 10-0 with two matches remaining. Erie Mason is in second place in the league with two losses, meaning the Trojans need just one win to clinch the outright title.

“Ours girls came out and gave up a few too many too early, but what I am most proud of was we didn’t let that bring us down or stop our energy,” Madison coach Heather Lanning said. “We came out on top in with the next 3.  We played hard, scrappy, defensive volleyball tonight.”

For Whiteford, Allison Spradling led with 7 kills and 16 digs. Liv Ruehle added 6 kills. Alyssa Ulery had 22 digs. Alaina Andrews had 18 assists and is now at 1080 career assists.

The Bobcats are 9-11-2 overall.
