Ten Bobcats earn All-Region honor from coaches association

Ten Whiteford Bobcats have earned first team All-Region honors in Division 8 in a release by the Michigan High School Coaches Association.

Making the first team are:

  • Shea Ruddy, QB. Ruddy has set a single season Whiteford record for touchdown passes while throwing for more than 1,000 yards and rushing for more than 600.
  • Shane Suchora and Brayden Luse, offensive lineman: The Bobcats have rushed for 3,903 yards, an average of 325 a game and more than seven yards per carry.
  • Kolby Masserant, tight end: Masserant leads the Bobcats in receptions (18) and yards (367) while catching three touchdowns.
  • Hunter DeBarr, running back: The junior is tied for the team lead with 1,061 yards rushing. He also has 16 catches for 361 yards and has scored 16 overall touchdowns.
  • Seamus Waterford, defensive line/end: Waterford has 54 tackles and 10 tackles for loss. He leads the team with nine quarterback sacks.
  • Owen Knaggs, defensive line: A key cog on the Bobcat defensive front, Knaggs has a sack, four tackles for loss and has recovered a fumble.
  • Drew Knaggs, linebacker: The two-way starter has 59 tackles, five quarterback sacks and has an interception.
  • Jake Iott, linebacker: He already has set the single season Whiteford record for tackles with 180 and leads the team in tackles for loss (14) and fumble recoveries (5). On offense he’s rushed for more than 1,000 yards, has a team record 34 two-point conversions and leads the team in touchdowns (21) and points scored (194). His points scored total is fourth in school history and just 12 points shy of second place.
  • Ryin Ruddy, defensive back: Ruddy is second on the team with 103 tackles while leading the team in interceptions with four. On offense, he leads the team in touchdown receptions (8).
