Bobcats are 2-1 after first win over Mason since 2017

The Bobcats opened the Tri-County Conference season with a 52-36 win over Erie Mason.

It was a big one for the Bobcats, who stopped Mason’s 24-game TCC win streak. It was also Whiteford’s first win over the Eagles since 2017.

Whiteford left little doubt about this one, leading 32-16 at halftime and leading by as many as 21 points.

“We had players step up and make big passes and big shots at many critical times to maintain the lead throughout the game,” Whiteford coach Jim Ross reported.

Madelyn Thomas scored 12 points and Jessica Ulery 11 and Annabelle Gapp pulled down 16 rebounds. Ten players for the Bobcats got into the scorebook.

Whiteford is 2-1 on the season.
