Bobcats fall to Ida in non-league game

IDA – Whiteford’s girls basketball team fell behind early and couldn’t catch up Tuesday and lost 54-27.

Ida outscored the Bobcats 16-4 in each of the first two quarters.

“I’m proud of how the girls responded in the second half,” Whiteford coach Nick Kopp said. “We knew we could’ve played better in the first half, and we did not live up to that.

“However, the response in the second half was very positive and shows the resiliency of this group. We’re going to keep working and keep getting better. I have tons of confidence in this group.”

Avy Wood led Whiteford with 10 points and Briar Wing added 9.
