Nachtrab scores TD, Alexander rushes for 68 yards in All-Star Football game

ADRIAN – Lenawee County’s big lead held up Friday as the county won for the first time in three all-star football matchups between Monroe and Lenawee County, 27-22.

Lenawee County MVP Brian Dopp threw for 159 yards and a touchdown pass as the Erik Johnson (Britton Deerfield)-coached squad took a 27-7 lead into the fourth quarter.

Monroe County scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including one by Whiteford graduate Antonio Nachtrab.

Nachtrab, who rushed for 34 yards on three carries, scored with inside of a minute left in the game.

Whiteford’s Shevy Alexander had 68 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Britton Deerfield’s Liem Roe and Caden Kubacki each completed a pass. Roe caught two passes for 32 yards. Cole Settles, also from BD had a tackle for loss.

Dopp and Ida running back Gavin Albring were the game MVPs.

This was the third year for the combined all-star game between the two counties.

Whiteford assistant coach Ben Avis was the Monroe County head coach.

Al Boydston, a Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Famer, served as honorary captain for the game.
