NEW BOSTON – It was a sloppy race course due to an all-day rain, but Whiteford cross country coach Jay Yockey was still impressed with his team.

The Bobcat boys took third in the 3-4 Division while the girls were fourth.

“Honestly, this was one of the best races I’ve ever had a team run,” Yockey said. “We had five boys under 20 minutes and they raced so well. All six boys came away with personal bests.”

Grant Rasor placed 12th and Brennan Chiotti was 29th for Whiteford. Lucas Bub, Xavier Abalos and Cody Wood placed 44, 50 and 55.

Braelynn Chiotti and Breslin Wing led the Bobcat girls by placing 21st and 28th. Molly Fojtik (52), Sierra DeBarr (59), Rory Vida (74), Blair Lake (79) and Anne Tenney (89) also had strong days for the Bobcats.
