DEERFIELD – Whiteford’s girls cross country team took first place in the second TCC Jamboree of the season Tuesday.

“This is the first time we have taken first in a really long time, and I hope it can add fuel to the fire, and we can come back in three weeks and win again for our first title since 2009,” said Bobcat coach Jay Yockey.

It’s the first Whiteford TCC jamboree win since 2010.

Breslin Wing and Braelynn Chiotti went 1-2 to lead the Bobcats. Molly Fojtik, Sierra DeBarr and Rory Vida were 13, 15, and 18. Blair Lake (22) and Ann Tenney (27) rounded out the Bobcats top seven.

The Bobcat boys placed third. Brennan Chiotti finished fifth. Lucas Bub and Xavier Abalos went 9-10 while Cody Wood finished in 17th place. Gavin Collins (26) and Kasey Workman (27) also made the top 30.

The first two TCC jamborees count 25 percent each in the standings and the final jamboree counts 50 percent.
