Whiteford’s cross country teams also competed at Willow Metropark. Neither team advanced to the state meet, but three Bobcats earned individual qualifying berths.

Grant Rasor led Whiteford’s boys with a 10th-place finish in 17:08.1. Breslin Wing finished 12th in 21:10.8 and Braelynn Chiotti placed 13th in 21:18.2 in the girls race, securing their trips to state. All three qualified by finishing among the top 15 in their respective races.
The Bobcat girls placed fifth and boys eighth.
“That was the highest regional placement in a few years,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said of the Bobcat girls.
Molly Fojtik was 32nd for Whiteford and Sierra DeBarr 39th.
Rasor was fresh off a TCC championship.
“He ran about 30 seconds faster this year than last and placed about the same,” Yockey said. “That shows how much fast this region was this year.
“I’m really excited to have state qualifiers, but honestly it was a great day to be a Bobcat,” Yockey added. “Almost every runner came away with a PR or a season best and you can’t be upset with that.”
