Whiteford competed Saturday at Harrison Lake State Park in the Fayette Eagles Cross Country Invitational.
The middle school runners ran a full two miles. The girls’ team placed 9th out of 18 with 244 points. Scoring points for the girls were Annabelle Gapp (53rd), Madelyn Cousino (76th), London Hodgkins (93rd), Tuesday Brochious (97th) and Julianna Bennett (103).
Our boys team finished 7th out of 16 with 190 points. Leading the way for our top five was Elliott Rogers in 21st place, followed by Cooper Bieber (64th), Luke Murphy (70th), Keegan Masters (81st) and Case Mensing (94th).
The varsity teams were up next. Whiteford girls did not have the five runners needed to score as a team. Running for the girls were Kaissidy Homolka (69th), Mia Miller (83rd), Josephine Emmerson (84th) and Addie Hodgkins in 90th. The girls Varsity race had 15 schools participating.
The boys team placed 11th (271 pts) of 15 schools. Our top five today were Corbin Willis (48th), Camden Willis (56th), Logan Bunge-Lance (71st), McCarty Simmons (76th) and Daniel Gapp (97th).
The varsity team runs next Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Gerber Park in the Blissfield Early Bird.
