Whiteford graduate Colin Lake scored 14 points Wednesday for North Park University in a loss to Carthage College.
The significant part about Lake’s 14 points is he passed a career milestone for the Vikings – reaching 1,000 career points.
Lake, the all-time leading scorer in both Monroe County and the Tri-County Conference, entered the game needed two points to reach the milestone. He did that early in the game as he had 10 points at halftime.
Lake is a senior on the Vikings team. He’s been a starter since early his freshman year and is averaging a team-leading 20.5 points a game through six games for North Park (1-5). He now has 1,012 career points. North Park is located in Chicago.
