Late comeback comes up short for Bobcats in season opener

Whiteford fell behind early before rallying Saturday night, but came up short against Bedford in a 75-65 loss.

It was the season opener for Whiteford.

Bedford led 21-12 after the first quarter and 42-29 at the halftime. The Bobcats did outscore the Mules 46-33 in the second half. Bedford made 12 of 13 free throws in the fourth quarter to maintain the lead and pick up the win.

Thomas Eitniear opened up his senior season with 16 points. Jarred Fink added 16 and Cameron Iott 15.

The Bobcats play next Wednesday, Dec. 20 when they host Whitmore Lake.
