Clinton sweeps Whiteford in softball doubleheader

CLINTON — Clinton moved into prime position to reclaim the TCC championship by sweeping Whiteford 3-1 and 9-4 Wednesday.

The Bobcats gave up a run in the first and two in the second in the opening game loss, then shutout Clinton over the next five innings. Lindsey Walker didn’t allow an earned run, but gave up six hits while striking out five.

Walker took the loss in the second game.

Madison Durden had five singles, Karsyn Berns-Moore had two doubles and a single and Katie Lipp had a single, double and two RBIs on the day.

The Bobcats are 12-9-1 overall and 7-3 in the TCC, two games behind Clinton in the loss column. Madison has two TCC losses.

The Bobcats host the Whiteford Invitational Saturday.
