Whiteford stays undefeated in TCC action by sweeping Clinton

CLINTON – Whiteford swept and important TCC doubleheader Wednesday, taking two at Clinton, 5-2 and 10-3.

The Bobcats spotted Clinton two runs in the first game, tied it in the second and scored three runs in the fifth to take the win.

Ty Eitnear, Thomas Eitniear, Nolan Adams, Nathan Bauman and Andrew Toda had hits for the Bobcats. Adams and Bauman had doubles while Adams and Alex Kohler had two stolen bases each. Toda collected his eighth win of the season in scattering seven hits and striking out six. Thomas Eitniear got the last out of the game.

In the second game, Thomas Eitniear had four hits and Antonio DiTerlizzi four RBI to lead the Bobcat hitters. Ty Eitniear, DiTerlizzi, Bauman and Hunter Lake each had two hits. Adams, who had a double, and Thomas Eitniear had two RBI’s apiece.

On the mound, Adams went the distance in winning his fourth game of the season. He struckout nine, didn’t give up a walk and allowed eight hits for the 14-3 Bobcats.

Whiteford is 8-0 in the TCC. Summerfield, who beat Madison 11-1 Wednesday, is two games back in the league standings with two losses – both to Whiteford.

The Bobcats host the Mark Christensen Invitational Saturday.
