Whiteford wrapped up its TCC softball season Tuesday by sweeping rival Morenci, 2-0 and 9-0, to finish 11-3 in the TCC.
The Bobcats can finish no worse than second in the league. Clinton is currently 11-1 with a doubleheader against Britton Deerfield remaining.
Whiteford pitcher Lindsey Walker allowed just one hit in the opener and two in the second game, striking out 20 batters in all.
In game one, Walker had a single, sacrifice fly and an RBI while Milly Iott had a single and RBI and Karsyn Berns-Moore a single and two steals.
In the second game, Walker had a single, two doubles, drew two walks and had three RBI. Madison Durden had two hits and two RBI and Berns-Moore had two more hits.
The Bobcats are 16-11-1 overall.
The Bobcats host Blissfield Friday, are at Mason on May 29 and at Tecumseh on May 31 before the June 2 Division 4 district tournament at Sand Creek.
