Whiteford’s Andrew Toda and Thomas Eitniear have been named to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State baseball team.
Toda and Eitniear earned first team honors in Division 4 in the team, announced today.
Toda had a historic season, tying the Bobcat single season record with 10 victories. He struck out 80 while walking just 22 and giving up just nine earned runs all season, an ERA of 0.801. At the plate, Toda also hit .329.
Eitniear, who was also All-State in 2016, led the Bobcats with a .416 average at the plate. He led the Bobcats in hits (37), runs (34) and stolen bases (22). He also had six doubles, a triple and a home run. Eitniear, who will play college baseball at the University of Toledo, will play later this month at Comerica Park in the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game.
By earning First Team All-State honors, Toda will be inducted into the Whiteford High School Athletic Hall of Fame in the next class. Eitniear was inducted earlier this year based on being named All-State baseball in 2016 and earning All-State football honors for the past three years.
