OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford running back Logan Murphy passed the 1,000-yard mark in Friday’s 51-14 Bobcat win over Lenawee Christian.
The senior has two 1,000-yard seasons to his credit, having set the single season Whiteford rushing record during Whiteford’s state-championship run in 2017 with 1,873 yards. His 1,104 yards so far this season is No. 6 on the single season Whiteford list.
Murphy is just the third back in Whiteford history to reach 1,000 yards twice, joining Nick Wohlfarth (2002-2003) and Jesse Kiefer (2014, 2016).
The Bobcats will play Reading Friday in the Division 8 District final. The game will be played at Reading.
