MONROE — Whiteford’s Logan Murphy has been named The Monroe News’ All-Region Offensive Player of the Year.
Murphy recently completed his Bobcat career as the all-time leading rusher in school history and had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. He also scored more than 50 touchdowns and finished 2nd in career points scored at Whiteford.
Murphy is just the third Whiteford player to be named Player of the Year since The Monroe News began choosing its All-Region teams in 1973.
Running back George Flanner was the offensive player of the year in 2006 while Bobcat QB Thomas Eitniear was the offensive player of the year in 2017.
Other Whiteford players making the offensive team include Ty Eitniear and Bradyn Clark-Gilmore. Zack Bertz, Hunter Lake and DeShaun Williams made the All-Region defensive team and head coach Jason Mensing was an honorable mention choice as well.
