OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford senior Ty Eitniear will play college baseball at Owens Technical College in northwest Ohio.
Eitniear signed a letter of intent on Friday, December 14, surrounded by family and friends.
Eitniear has played three seasons of varsity baseball at Whiteford, compiling 101 career hits and batting .347 and playing center field. He has played on three consecutive outright TCC championship teams. As a sophomore he led the Bobcats in batting average while being named First Team All-Region by The Monroe News. He was named First Team All-TCC in 2018.
Eitniear is a multi-sport athlete at Whiteford, having played football for four years with the Bobcats, helping them to a state championship in 2017 and being named All-Region this past season while starting 11 games at quarterback.

Owens Tech hasn’t had baseball since the 2015-16 season but is bringing it back for 2018-19. Eitniear will join the team for 2019-20.
