Bobcats go 1-2 in Airport tournament Saturday

CARLETON – Whiteford went 1-2 Saturday in the George (Beezer) Williams Invitational at Airport.

The Bobcats banged out eight hits and scored twice against the No. 1 ranked team in Division 2, Airport, but lost 9-2.

Bryce Wing and Levi Hillard each had two hits while Ty Eitniear, Eric Parriett, Austin Wynn and Camden Willis also had hits. Wing and Levi Hillard scored the Bobcat runs.

Hillard, Wynn and Wing all took the mound for the Bobcats.

In the second game, the Bobcats beat Dearborn Heights Annapolis 7-6.

Cole Geisige, Wing, Wynn and Cole Crouch pitched for the Bobcats with Crouch getting the win. Camden Willis had two hits and two RBIs while Wing, Nathan Bauman, Wynn and Crouch also had hits. Crouch had the game-winning RBI on a bounce-out in the bottom of the seventh.

Whiteford lost in the third game to John Glenn, 16-1. Whiteford’s only hit came from Eric Parriett, who drove in Crouch. Nick Freeman, Parriett, Ian Slick and Cooper Ruhly all pitched for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats are 6-9 on the season.
