PETERSBURG — Whiteford’s 2019 varsity baseball season came to a close Saturday in the Division 4 District semifinal at Summerfield.
The Bobcats lost to Lenawee Christian, 11-1, falling to Cougar ace Austin Crowley.
Whiteford closed out the season with a 10-22 record.
For the Bobcats on Saturday, Ty Eitniear was the losing pitcher, going the distance. He also had a hit at the plate, one of five Bobcat singles on the day. The others were by Nathan Bauman, Camden Willis, Cole Crouch and Cole Geisige.
Summerfield went on to beat the Cougars in the District final. The Bulldogs are coached by former Whiteford athlete Travis Pant.
