ADRIAN — Led by a seventh-place finish by Keegan Masters, Whiteford’s boys cross country team finished third at Tuesday’s TCC Jamboree. It was the first TCC Jamboree of the season.
Miller came in with a time of 19:15. Luke Murphy was ninth at 19:23, Cole Crouch was 14th (20:08), Nick Oberle 23rd (21:34), Ryan Oberle 28th (22:19) and Cooper Bieber 37th (24:19).
As a team the Bobcats finished third with 69 points. Erie Mason finished first with 55 points while Summerfield was runner-up at 61. It was just the second meet of the season for the Bobcats.
Whiteford’s girls did not have enough runners to compete as a team. However, Anne Gapp placed eighth individually with a time of 23:28 and Sarah Oberle was 28th with a time of 27:34. Sid Miller placed 30th.
“I’m very pleased with how we raced today as a whole,” said Whiteford cross country coach Jay Yockey. “Both the boys and girls ran smart races and went after their goals and met them. I’m excited to see how the season continues to develop.”
