BROOKLYN — The Whiteford boys cross country team placed 19th Saturday afternoon in the Division 4 state cross country meet held at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
The Bobcats, consisting of seven underclassmen, finished 4ith 448 points as a unit.
“It was an honor to be able to compete at state,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said. “Hopefully this adds fuel to the fire and we work hard during the off season to get back there and make a bigger impact.”
Luke Murphy was the highest finishing Bobcat. The junior came home in 18:39.00, good for 54th place overall and 37th among team participants. Keegan Masters was 60th (18:43.7).
