OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford offensive tackle Noah Bauman is just a junior, but already one of the most decorated football players in Bobcat history.
Today, Bauman earned another honor, being named to the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association First Team All-State squad.
“He was dominant on both sides of the ball this season,” Whiteford coach Jason Mensing said. “He had an outstanding season for. He’s one of our leaders and I anticipate even better things from him next year.”
Bauman has started every game on the Whiteford varsity since his freshman season began – 29 straight games.
As a sophomore the 6-3, 285-pound Bauman was first team All-State by the Associated Press, Detroit News and Detroit Free Press. He was named First Team All-TCC and All-Region by the coaches association this season after anchoring a Bobcat offense that ran for 2,300 yards, averaging nearly six yards a carry.
On defense, Bauman had 20 solo tackles and made 11.5 tackles for loss.
