Whiteford boys to face Tecumseh, Dearborn Advanced Technology for first time

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford’s 2021 boys basketball schedule will include two first-time meetings for the Bobcats.

Whiteford will open the season Thursday, Feb. 4 with a Tri-County Conference contest against Madison, then take on Dearborn Advanced Technology on the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 6. It will be the first meeting ever between the Bobcats and DAT.

Later in the season Whiteford will play at Tecumseh on Monday, Feb. 15. It will be the first-ever meeting between the Indians and the Bobcats. Tecumseh is coached by former Madison player Jameson Webster.

The 2021 schedule also includes the return of Erie Mason to the schedule as the Eagles are now a part of the Tri-County Conference. Also back on the Whiteford schedule for the first time in years is a game against Addison. That is a Saturday morning contest at home.

Non-contact practice began last weekend for the Bobcats. Practice is expected to begin around Feb. 1 with games starting soon after.

Whiteford is coming off a 2-19 season and are coached by Nick Abalos, in his third year as the Whiteford varsity head coach.
