OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford’s girls basketball team will take on a couple of new opponents when the season begins early next month.
The Bobcats will face Dearborn Advanced Technology, Tecumseh and Adrian all for the first time.
Tecumseh and Adrian are both members of the Southeastern Conference-White Division. Tecumseh is coached by former Britton athlete Kristy (Maska) Zajac.
The Bobcats open the season Friday, Feb. 5 at Madison, then turn around and play the Trojans a second time the following Wednesday. Whiteford plays a full 12-game Tri-County Conference schedule this season as Britton Deerfield is back with a varsity program.
In addition to DAT, Tecumseh and Adrian, the Bobcats have a non-league game against Addison.
Whiteford’s girls are coached by Les Manley, who is entering his sixth season as the head coach of the program. Whiteford is coming off a 9-12 season.
