OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford’s first home track meet in more than a decade was a success as the Bobcat took home several first place finishes and three victories.
Whiteford’s girls swept Summerfield (84-39) and Lenawee Christian (107-11) while the Bobcat boys beat Lenawee Christian 69-48 but lost to Summerfield 73-51.
Paige Thomas finished first in the 100 (13.31), 200 (28.46) and 400 (108.36) an helped the 4×400 relay team take first. She teamed with Annie Gapp, Aubrie Simmons and Madelyn Thomas in that event.
Gapp took first in the 300 Hurdles and Madelyn Thomas won the 800 (2:49.69) and 1600 (6:10). Josie Emmerson was first in the 100 Hurdles (21.37) and Sidney Miller was first in the 3200 (17:40.35).
Kenzie Gray was first in the shot put (31’7) while Sarah Oberle won the high jump (4’2) and Rylie DeSilvis was first in the long jump (13’11).
DeSilvis teamed with Sofie Minkowski, Karley Stevens and Mayson Podgorski to win the 4×100.
For the boys, Noah Bauman won the shot put (39-2) and discus (104-2) in his first varsity track meet. Keegan Masters on the 3200 and was on the winning 4×800 relay with Elliott Rodgers, Luke Murphy and Ryan Oberle.
Oberle teamed with Ty Ruddy, Dylan Anderson and Jacob Iott to take the 4×400 relay.
The tri-meet was the first on Whiteford’s new track.
